Homework and Assessment Policy

Homework will be set when needed to enhance and develop skills taught in class. Parents are encouraged to get involved with their child's homework and monitor its completion. Students should report difficulties to their class teacher in the following lesson. If a student consistently does not complete homework, a letter will be sent home to inform parents and hopefully rectify the problem.

All students will be assessed throughout Stage 4 using a range of assessment techniques. Technology Mandatory builds on the knowledge base from Stage 3 Science and Technology and follows a pathway that progresses their Technological ability.

Students will be assessed in the following manner:

  • Design Portfolio

  • Practical Mark

  • Book Mark

These tasks are used to build a picture of the students' ability over the year and outcomes are then reported via the school reporting system.
